„Women are angels“
This creed runs through almost the entire life and work
of André de Plessel. Very early on he saw women as
„strong angels“ - they became the main subject of his
photography and his most important companions.
Whether in his commercial photo productions or in his
art photography - the special relationship that
André de Plessel creates through his lens with his »Angels«
is a very personal one that is both respectful and provocative.
The result is seductive images of great aesthetic power.
He shows the majesty of female eroticism,
bows to her beauty, inspires her to show deep secrets
and unleash her feminine powers.
We are magically kidnapped by him - not infrequently as
voyeurs - into the world of his special, artistic eye.
The core of his work is the will to make people dream,
so that what they dream can become truth.
He was never really at home in Germany as the son
of an Italian and a French, and also the grandson
of a Russian grandmother. His home was to be the
photo sets of the whole world.
That is why André de Plessel was drawn to the Miro School
of Fine Arts in Barcelona after studying graphic and
photography at the University of Frankfurt.
From there it went on to Ibiza, New York, Paris, London
Attitude Amica and in the Olympus of advertising photography, with
and a long time in Milan in almost all major editorial
&
offices, such as Vogue, Harpers Bazaar, Linea Uomo,
campaigns for companies like Coca Cola,
Clarins Paris, Nike, DKNY, etc.
which is constantly changing. In this colorful world of beauty
Angels It has been based for over 30 years in Miami, the Magic City,
and uniquely lively light, André de Plessel finds the most in-
spiration to focus on his “angels” and to create new works.
With exhibitions in New York, Miami, Palm Beach
(together with Albert Watson in the renowned Holden Luntz
Gallery), London and Hamburg André de Plessel has long
been highly recognized by collectors in the US.
